Artist Statement
For me, the process of creating art is just as important as the final product. I am an artist because I find joy in the act of making and the connections I can build as a result of that, both within myself and with others.
Through the exploration of paint and print, my current work reflects on the nonlinear relationship I have with my body and self. I use multiples as a common theme to question and digest these internalized feelings. By sharing my experience, I hope to create spaces that welcome conversation and understanding around the subject. The result of this will challenge the way the current American culture perceives the body, contributing to a new culture that is slowly replacing its flawed predecessor.
